Work Strategy — The Inner Game of Getting Things Done

Most work problems are presented as strategy problems. Often they're something else. A leader who can't make the call. A team spending its energy fighting itself. A talented person who has stopped wanting anything.

My background is in psychology, and I bring it to the practical question of how you work: how you decide, how you lead, how you spend your energy, and what you're spending it on.

Power, used well. Power gets a bad name. I mean it as capability, assertiveness, fortitude. Many capable people hold theirs back at work, out of habit, misplaced politeness, or fear of being too much. We work on using it cleanly, with room for your power and the power of the people around you.

Factions. Every person has inner factions in conflict. So does every team. That's a lot of energy spent without going anywhere. Part of my work is helping the factions become teammates, so the energy can move in one direction.

Attention. You work in an aggressively mediated world. Screens, feeds, and notifications sort what gets in and what stays out. We look at what's getting your attention, and whether it deserves it.

Vision. Industriousness without direction wears thin. Sometimes the question isn't how to work harder, but what the work is for.

Who this is for

Leaders and managers. Founders and high performers who've lost their edge or their reason. People in transition: a promotion, a career change, an exit.

How it works

One-on-one consulting sessions by video. Focused, practical, and aimed at your work. Consulting is not therapy. If something comes up that calls for clinical care, I'll tell you and help you find the right support.
